Parts, media, and compounds are placed in a vibratory tub or bowl. The vibratory action causes the parts and media to turn and grind against each other, which deburrs or polishes the parts.
Vibratory finishing is cost-effective, less labor-intensive, and more energy-efficient than other methods. It also generally requires less maintenance than blast cabinets.
In vibratory finishing, components are placed in a bowl with media, liquid concentrate, or weak acid, and then the bowl vibrates in a spiral motion. The type of media used depends on the desired finish:
